Honestly, the system is broken. Healthcare professionals should be able to build wealth without working ourselves into the ground. I do take on extra shifts, but only with a clear goal—paying off debt or funding an investment. Grinding just for the sake of it isn’t worth it.
I used to work extra shifts constantly, but I burned out fast. Now, I’m focused on smarter money moves instead of just working more. I max out my 401(k) match, throw what I can into a high-yield savings account, and recently started looking into real estate.
If you're in this field to get wealthy. You've made a mistake.
If you are in this field to help people and make a difference you made a mistake.
I hear you! I thought moving up into management was the answer and I made less per hour than I did treating. Luckily my spouse is in finance and does better than I do financially. My tactic is save and sock a lot away in retirement and trade stocks. Take out money when I hit a certain number trading and repeat. Good luck to all
Pls like I want to come back
Anyone can build wealth! It can be a hustle but it’s possible! I started listening to Dave Ramsey and gives me a lot of hope! I would highly recommend!
They will give me CPR to keep paying my loans one day. I’m working pretty much 7 days a week but getting nowhere. Primary Care is broken. I fear it will become far worse with the new “administration.”
I feel horrible for anyone being an NP back in the day you came in saw patients did charting now you work like Physicians and the Physicians only have to see the patients once a month and we know how that goes our healthcare is absolutely horrible.
It's true 100%.
There is time to think about all of this.
I know how you feel. I recently started writing books as a side hustle. Just published my first one a few weeks ago. Hopefully, I will able the generate a few dollars from it. Every little bit helps. But I really wish my main job had better pay.

It’s a tough market tbh

I imagine it's hard to work more with OT. At least with clinical nursing jobs we with 3-12s so there's four days of the week to pluck from. Good luck.
