Not really worth it, just get an Amex plat for the gold status if you care much.
But 35 nights? You want to spend the rest of the year in a hotel for some “meh” benefits?

The bonvoy brilliant is an Amex card with the prime perk being platinum status. Why would Marriott or Amex agree to also do platinum status for the platinum card? That would completely erode the value of the Marriott brilliant card.
Do you have any active promotions? They’ve offered me double elite nights on stays through November. I booked a three night stay at the cheapest hotel in suburbs and checked-in via mobile. Got 6 nights that put me over the edge to keep my Titanium status. Was worth the $300. 35 nights is a lost cause though….

There is also the bumb promotion for staying in fifteenth brands. I've nailed 14 brands this year, normally use maybe 5.
You can always get the top Bonvoy card. Automatic Platinum status.
The dilution will be real tho in the coming years.
If you only stay at Marriott 15 nights a year anyway based on your current year amount, it is not worth it.
It’s usually much higher - this was an off year. Had a lot of travel for weddings and stuff that ended up being at non-Marriott properties. 4 destination weddings this year that we also doubled up as vacations, so lost a solid 20 nights to that (at least).
I have accepted that, in this Era of remote/reduced travel, we are just no longer special lol
That being said, 6 months ago when I was clinging to the idea, I called hyatt and escalated 3 times, finally got them to agree to a challenge. It's worth a shot - be audibly annoyed with the first person, then less annoyed with the second, then SUPER nice to the supervisor.

Tell your friends you can book rooms for them under your name so you can get status. Heck even their grandparents lol
Not worth it. I have 15 needed to hit platinum this year and I’m not going to bother chasing it. The perks have been limited since Covid.

Marriott status is useless.
You can get a late checkout at any Marriott(except NYC and SF and resorts)if you just ask.
