I need to replace my aged iMac home office setup. I’ve gotten very used to the 27” screen, but it’s 12 years old. I have a work computer and dock, just need to decide between one of the new ultra wide monitors, or two independent. Would be great if one could be portrait and the other landscape, or possible to switch back and forth. Anyone have any suggestions on monitor setups that you love?

Anyone know rough salary ranges for Fortune 100 media company as an Associate Counsel/Counsel position. Spoke to a recruiter and they said the range for Associate Counsel was 110K base. Isn't this way below market for someone with a few years experience?

3rd year in Big Law. In the final round of an interview where the total comp is still well over 200k. My firm doesn’t pay market now so it’s not a huge cut. I’m trying to think of reasons why I wouldn’t want the job. Any insights? I can’t tell if it’s just a general fear of leaving my firm in the lurch (even though it’s to a client)

Applying for some in-house M&A jobs, and a big focus is being able to run deals. I of course feel very comfortable running deals from the corporate side and managing multiple teams, but have obviously always had an army of specialists in biglaw. How does this work in house? I’m primarily thinking from a tax perspective — I likely wouldn’t be able to structure a deal (and don’t think many of my peers could either) since we always rely on a tax team, but not sure if that is an expectation.

Getting more and more frustrated about endless bureaucracy, constant political power struggles, lack of resources for basic compliance programs, and constantly playing whack-a-mole for issues we should be proactively addressing. Left BigLaw for better work life balance but not finding it. Is that because I’m in BigCorp? Do the same issues prevail in smaller private companies?

At a biglaw firm now, in the final round for a FAANG product counsel role. I just learned that one of the partners at the firm is involved in a big case adverse to the company I’m interviewing at.
