I now have a 4 PM meeting Friday because of all the conflicting schedules. I was really hoping for it to be today… meetings after noon Friday are the worst. Which would you rather have? A late night meeting (7-8 PM) on Thursday or a 4-5 PM one on Friday

I had a 7 PM meeting on Tuesdays for around 2 months. Don’t recommend, but it was at least virtual and didn’t need to be in the office. I’d prefer skipping rush hour, so the later, the better.

Yeah I have a standing 7 or 8 PM every two weeks
It’s not sooo bad but gets old fast

Both of those suck but I do not like working past 5

100% agree
Unfortunately my role has a lot of overseas contact so I end up with weird hours sometimes

Can anyone give me their honest opinion on working at Eli Lilly, the Indy site? I have a few coworkers that have worked there in the past but no one recently. I’m currently being recruited pretty seriously for a in-vivo technician position in the auto-immune team, but I already have a job lined up at Envigo as a small animal sx tech. Salaries would be comparable (Lilly would most likely be a little more with bonuses), but if the culture sucks, I’d hate to burn a bridge with Envigo.

What is one of the most frustrating parts of being a scientist or researcher?

I'll tell you what it is: referencing!

You have to do so much of it, and it's so annoying. You have to cite your sources, but there are so many different formats for citations! And then sometimes you don't even know how to cite something, and how are you supposed to know that unless you ask someone who knows? And even then, they might not be sure whether it should be an in-text citation or a footnote…
