Publicis. No brainer. WPP is a sinking ship.
I’m about to switch to WPP lol Publicis was chaotic af
FYI: Unlimited PTO isn’t superior though. They do that so they don’t have to pay out for unused vacation days when they lay you off.
I’d still go w/ Publicis though no question
WPP lost a ton of money last quarter and isn’t looking good. It wouldn’t shock me if they’re staffing up to make themselves look “healthier”for an acquisition. Which like IPG peeps, you’ll find yourself on the street w/in 18 months
Check your employee handbook about paying out vacation days. The latest from Omnicom does NOT pay out for unused days. So unlimited PTO vs 2 weeks is not a decider in my books

Biggest difference will be what account/what team.

Sounds like you’ve made your mind. Ask for those extra 5000 and accept their offer when they agree to do so, which they will.
5k is like 5 cents to them. If they wont negotiate with a little, that could potentially be a re flag for future raises and promotion negotiations.
Having worked at both, the financial growth (bonus, merit raise, etc) is far superior at Publicis. It was pretty much nonexistent at WPP, and will continue to be based on their financials.
Agree!!!

Seems like if you pick WPP there’s a good chance you’ll be out of a job in a few months.
Publicis 100%, I'd try to negotiate the 5k but in the grand scheme of things it won't be too bad.
Worth asking, regardless better to go to Publicis than wpp
I would go with Publicis. If i went to WPP right now id be terrified of being laid off merely months after starting my position
You run that risk at both places, despite their differing fortunes either one can / could cut you on a moments notice.
$5k after taxes is nothing compared to the better benefits you will be getting. Plus Publicis is doing way better financially.
The question though is if it is PUBLICIS COLAB????
Search those forum for more context.
Publicis is owning the industry right now. WPP is barely surviving.
As a single dad this was a helpful reminder that $5k isn’t worth the WTC stress, thanks all
Publicis will not fill the teams and you’ll work so many hours. And WPP will probably have more layoffs. It’s tough. But publicis probably looks better when you try to leave in 6 months
All too well. But thank you for noticing. 🫡
Publicis. WPP was cool decades ago.. but that ship has sailed.

Lesser of two evils. I’d say Publicis, but only because the alternative is WPP 😂
The only time 5k should be a difference maker is if you see everything else as being relatively equal. Take the Publicis gig.
WPP is over - for the moment
Didn’t they just report a 71% drop in profit last quarter?
I may be biased, but Publicis. If you are unable to negotiate the extra $5k, at least that's better than being in a job of "chaos".
Peace of mind itself is also very valuable, believe me.
Agencies are starting to die off quicker due to AI than I previously thought they would.
Bloated retainers, lagged responses...no innovation, the buyers are going to benefit in a small power shift.
Asynchronous work is the craziest org move I’ve seen in a while. I get that “agency working around the clock around the globe to make your brands story the best it can be” sounds good on a splashpage manifesto…
But it just leads to bloated schedules and approval delays and wasted money.
I've worked at both and it certainly can be account dependent to a point. Pay is better at WPP. So is Culture. They are struggling right now which can be a turn off. Lots of snakes at Publicis. Most accounts I was on at P, someone would try to throw you under the bus for something that they thought they could get themselves ahead with. Good luck getting promoted as well. Lots of lies told to me in 1:1 meetings. Just my experience. As for in office. Publicis will enforce 3 days and will fire you if you don't meet. WPP has 4 but is not enforcing strictly.
