I recently got a job, I’m really happy I got it as I have been trying for a year to get one. But I’m currently struggling with working as there’s some health issues I’m having at the moment that make it hard for me to be on my legs for more than 4 hours.

I don’t know whether or not I should quit. I’ve only worked one shift and I don’t want to let anyone down.

I am a bit young and still looking for job opportunities but it’s hard when I feel so sick after standing up for hours at a time.

Talk to your supervisor maybe you can do other duties that don’t consist you to stand up for so long. You may have to stand up for at least 2 hours, which is better than 4 and you get to keep your job. Have a talk with your supervisor about your situation.

I’d try and stick it out. But as others have said, don’t just suffer in silence. Make your leaders aware of what’s going on and do your best to still bring value to the team even if you need some accommodations to do so.

As stated in the previous comment, it's worth discussing this, with your supervisor. Are you able to use a chair, and still do the job? Also, more than likely, a doctor's note, will be required. In order, to make certain accommodations.

I would say, if you have gone to a doctor and get a diagnosis that will give you solid proof of your complaint. Evaluate your benefits that are offered with the company. See if you can work part-time (if not already.)
Meantime cover your self: look into collecting disability (if not already):Supplement the hours you can't do with unemployment (once you see if your Supervisor, Manager, the Company) can make those adjustments (due to your health)
I pray that everything works out for you. Take care

Try discussing your needs with your supervisor maybe they can accommodate and do your best to bring irreplaceable value and they are sure to accommodate.

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.
