It’s a decent offer but you could still negotiate on the base I guess
Look at levels.fyi and ask some 10k above that and see. Also, if you are relocating, that’s tax assisted so get more on that instead of joining bonus.
More than I would offer
It’s fair for 5 years experience in Tier 2 city
I agree.
What's a tier 2 city????
Exactly. Hence why it is getting there but not there yet. There are def houses there that are creeping up compared to say a LCOL place, but sure it’s no where near where I live, i.e. 1.2 mill for a small 1,000 sqft townhouse.
have you checked https://www.levels.fyi/? Your company might even be on their list.
Seems like an industry at-par offer. TCO with sponsorship, employment taxes, healthcare, 401k match etc is another 20k.
That’s low even for in-house at a bank.
It may not be that low or low at all.
Recently a friend was offered 135k + 12 - 15% bonus for SSE role by BOfA.
That's a bit under the middle of the range at my company for a fully remote position, $109-159k. Bonus about 15%, RSUs $20k+
Good offer
That’s not much more than my recent offer in Denver. I’m not sure where you live, but based on your level of experience I’d say that’s low. I’ve got 18 months of experience and just accepted $115k + 10% standard bonus + 3-5% team performance bonus from a home security company
I used to work at US Bank. This is their standard compensation, assuming you are L14-15.
You could get better at other companies (e.g. American Express) but that’s what you gonna get at US Bank.
Glassdoor says: “The estimated total pay for a Software Engineer is $119,996 per year in the United States area, with an average salary of $96,507 per year. These numbers represent the median, which is the midpoint of the ranges from our proprietary Total Pay Estimate model and based on salaries collected from our users.”
Seems like your offer beats the median in the US.
Is it for Minneapolis?
Do you need work authorization/sponsorship?
Did you negotiate?
Not great but not bad
Low ball offer. $127k is like entry level offer now
This is definitely not true…
Hello, how many rounds of negotiation did you have. How long it took for them to release offer after they shared offer details.
