Yeah, that's a conversation that hits hard every time it comes up. Nurses (and techs, CNAs, etc.) are absolutely the ones holding everything together dealing with nonstop chaos, life-or-death decisions, bodily fluids, grieving families, 12-hour shifts on their feet—all while risking their own health. And burnout? It's epidemic. I've read stuff recently where like 60-70% of nurses say they're stressed out or burnt out constantly, and a big chunk point to staffing shortages and feeling undervalued as the main reasons they're ready to walk.
Absolutely, it’s a tough conversation. Nurses really do hold everything together. They handle so much chaos and stress daily. It’s shocking that they’re paid less than some admin roles. Burnout is a huge issue, too. Their hard work deserves way more recognition and support!
We absolutely 💯 should be compensated more for what we do.
Absolutely! We put in so much effort and really deserve higher compensation for all we do!
I couldn’t agree more. Too many people leave healthcare due to being overworked and underpaid. We absolutely deserve higher compensation.
Totally agree! It’s so sad to see people leave because they’re overworked and underpaid. We definitely deserve better pay for all we do!
Absolutely everyone deserves a living wage and a wage that reflects their hard work. I have been front desk before, you can’t pay me enough to do it full time. Let me do the medical stuff any day. Anyway my thought on this is if you think you’re paid little for your role in human med, well we are always hiring in vet med due to shortages and would love for you to get a trial run of our paychecks..! :)
Agreed, financial stability is key! However, this field can be a good starting point for younger people or those looking to gain experience. Still, it may not be the best long-term choice.
Yet this conversation is more geared towards nurses and CNA’s, PCT. However pharmacy is ALWAYS over looked. No bonus barely any raises. Yet we’re soo important ESPECIALLY hospital pharmacy technicians. 99.9 % of IV’s are made by technicians, chemotherapy technicians, anti-venom, critical care drops. We do, yet we’re required to have an education, be state and nationally certified, CPR certified only to be paid less than $20 dollars in most states. I left hospital pharmacy for retail and I’m maxed at $23.50, yet we do majority of the work, give vaccines and in this setting we’re over worked, under staffed , unappreciated and under paid.
Pharmacy techs play such a crucial role and deserve way more recognition. It’s frustrating to see so many important jobs overlooked. Your hard work definitely deserves better pay and appreciation!
