I recently transitioned from being an accounting manager based in the PH to an outsourced accountant servicing a US client with better pay and WFH arrangement. I’ve also joined a sub for accounting over Reddit and was shocked by the vitriol and frankly some borderline-racist comments toward outsourced personnel for “taking US jobs”, etc. My mental health has taken a hit and I can’t seem to shake off the feeling that the onshore team might feel the same way. Should I still pursue this track?

One of the best pieces of advice I received is to avoid micro-managing executive staff (agency leadership), as it puts downward and unwelcome pressure on people’s managers and ultimately oneself. Based on your experience in the last 2 years are there:
- Agencies you would steer clear from because their leadership micromanages

Are there any tax professionals in the Lancaster, PA area that are looking to leave public? Boutique or big 4?

I'm currently an ops manager at a big 4 in London and received an offer from a small boutique firm with 25-30% pay rise.

I'm also in the process with Accenture but I feel like I'm not sure if I'd jump just for the money but also change in environment.
What type of things would you be asking yourself if you were in my shoes and debating to jump ship?

SA1 to SA2 in PWC is a promotion or progression ?
If it's a progression will the resource get the progression by default after an year of joining ?

Anyone who is ex-consulting and moved to industry miss the events? I don't miss the lack of WLB, but I miss getting tickets to conferences, team events and DU.
Pandemic has been good and bad, since I guess no one is going anywhere, but also because industry office is closed so no in-house events either. Miss getting varied experiences across different clients and industries that consulting offered.

Cons: Kind of back end work sometimes

EY-Parthenon:
Pros: India Market, Strong Clients in India (both corporates and start-ups), Front End
Cons: Heard culture isn't great, Not that much variety in projects

I made an appt with my doctor (PA) tomorrow. Will they prescribe me an anxiety medicine? What should I ask for? I’m looking for something low dose and minimal side effects. Help!!

My sister and I have recently both come to the realization that our parents guilt us into spending time with them or visiting them and the guilt causes us both to shut down. Our dad is the main offender, often reminding us how little time we have left with him, asking us why we’re leaving so soon or reminding us about all the good deeds and sacrifices made. First year staff and I think this job is making my depression come back. I find no meaning whatsoever in what I do and just want to cry every morning thinking of going to work.

I've started doing meditation with this group called The 'Art of Living' in New York City, and it's honestly changed my life. Can't recommend it enough for dealing with the stresses of modern life.
