I specialize in nonprofit tax and I’m trying to increase my knowledge in my complex or unusual nonprofits tax issues since I don’t get the exposure that much at work (international activities, private benefit, UBI, etc.). Does anyone have any books or CPEs that they recommend? Or courses that they took that went into detail on this? Most of what I find is more about NFP management skills then the more technical side of it.

I don’t think you’re a lawyer but Practising Law Institute has quite a few tax legal education courses that may be helpful. I have free access to it from my nonprofit but I’m not sure how much access to the courses are. I’ve taken a couple of their nonprofit tax legal education webinars.

What do you think about switching tech stacks vs becoming an expert in one stack? I am a backend Java engineer, and have solely used Java since I've started my software engineering career about 2 years ago. I don't know whether I should explore other tech stacks while I'm young, or instead focus on becoming a Java expert, given that I enjoy working in Java.

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??
