Hello, what is working in retail banking like at JPMorgan Chase ? Specially the branch manager role. I’m looking in the Columbus area. How is pay, culture, benefits, sales environment, meetings, etc. How easy is it to transition from retail banking to corporate. I hear the Polaris campus has great opportunities, I was thinking about getting my foot in the door through retail then transferring to corporate ?

Practice? Title? I came in from a non-big4 competitor and they down titled me with “you’ll get promoted in a year”.. it’s been a few years and I’m still at the same title. So don’t let them do that.
In the PE Strategy group, feel free to dm if you have questions
The big 4 is a collection of franchises packaged in the form of a partnership. Your experience will be very group / practice dependent at that point in time.
KPMG seems more down to earth than Deloitte
Agreed
I left S& after 3 years for KPMG strategy - stepped up a level.
It's only been a week so take my experience with a grain of salt.
But they seem much more human here lol
Like I literally just did my training and independence this week. It was so chill 😭
My first week at S& they literally put me on client pursuit my first day, then a giant project my second day... I remember asking my RL if I should step off the pursuit and they were like "you made a commitment".
Anyway - I literally didn't sleep my first week there because I was trying to balance my project, the pursuit, and all my training / independence. I remember sitting at my desk thinking "what did I do to myself". I had to use my first couple weekends to handle onboarding lol.
Anyway - I pray this WLB continue here, but so far it's a great start haha
Interesting, what team are you on? Our group is extremely busy
It’s 💯 down to the partner both have pockets of goodness/toxic areas and you won’t know unless you have a contact inside.
KPMG is a better, more inclusive culture than Deloitte… but it’s still the Big 4. FWIW - left F&EP at Deloitte for DAS at KPMG
I ve worked at EY, Accenture, and Capgemini. I would say it depends what you hated. If it was particular a particular person or group of people you "hated" at Deloitte, you may find a better group at KPMG. I suspect though what you "hated" was more to do with the culture of a Big 4 or similar firm. There are plenty of posts here's discussing the culture - more on the bad. I would argue that it's likely if you are not happy in one of these firms over time you will not be happy in another.
All the big consultancies are pretty much the same. All are partner driven to maximize their wealth on the backs of those that do all the real work and heavy lifting.
