Is there a good Mom Facebook group for your area? I’ve found that there’s been some good suggestions of people that other families have used or people self promoting themselves after their recent nanny gig stopped. This way u can easily see their connections and sorta do a limited background check yourself!
That’s a good idea thanks!
It’s hard. I’m in NY and struggling to find the same. All the good ones are passed along to friends and family or want full time. Need someone Thurs/Fri 3-7.30 if anyone has any leads 😂
We used care.com, many phone interviews for prescreen, then in person with a handful. Was able to land 2 that share days both have been with us almost 5 years. You have to be willing to pay though. Both are mid fifties to early sixties, I didn’t want to waste time with a young person that would likely get bored.
Also, in NY. I used Care.com. Took a few trials (hit and misses) over a month. We had people come in and had my husbnad’s mom watch how they handled our son. We hired a lady in 50s that picks up at 3:30 and stays until 7. It’s been a year and no major complaints.

Where in LA are you?
No worries! Thanks for the thought
definitely local Facebook groups for moms or parents. where in LA are you? I'm in the South Bay and might have some referrals.
There is a service in my area that posts the job on care and screens applicants. They do background check, reference check, phone interview, and in person interview, before I even speak with the applicants. I’ve hired 2 nannies over the last 4 years this way. They’ve both been stellar. It is definitely worth the fee.
