Why didn’t they just keep it optional. This way it’s seems like you are being penalized for not having children. Sometimes I wonder why people keep making these unnecessary groupings. I think it’s this need to control things that drives decisions.
Yes, that’s how it feels. I have a 40 minute drive to work so my plan time is cut by 1 hour 20 while I’m on the road. Every night I’m on the couch with my laptop. To me, it’s added work and stress for no reason. I drive in and go straight to my classroom, sit on my laptop with my door closed, then drive home.
🤔 attempt for an equity model over equality it sounds like. Normally I'm all for that ... but that works better if people get everything they need even if its different.. which doesn't seem to be the case here. Definitely going to impact people's feeling of fairness. Is there something that can be done to increase the benefits for the people who come into school?... to even out the value. What could you benefit from? Maybe there's some opportunity for leverage here...? Good luck! 🍀
Call the union. This IS a union issue!
That wouldn’t feel right to me either!
So the issue is if you had kids, the expectation is that you'd be treated differently? Yeah.
What ever you do, don't dig in to that. If you do, you'll realize in many places you get compensated significantly more if you have children and a family. (Via insurance costs).
Call your union. That’s totally not okay!
