Electrolysis or laser specifically targets the melanin in hair and damages the hair follicle so that hair won’t grow back. If you wax/thread/tweeze you are completely removing the hair so there is no melanin to target. You can shave so that the root of the hair is still there but removing the hair completely lowers the efficacy
Confirmed - you do not wax between sessions. I did electrolysis on my legs and bikini line in the winter for this reason.
