I want to be a multimillionaire (+$100m net worth), most people aren't gonna make it, meaning I should do something radically different than everyone's doing, what should I do?

Ask your dad for a small loan of $100m

In the 21st century there’s only 3 ways to reach 100M+ levels of wealth:

1) Inheritance and generational wealth: takes no skill other than to not get screwed by inheritance tax, other relatives, or your father’s mistress.

2) Marry into it: Easy if you’re a young beautiful woman or a boy-toy. Need high tolerance to cater for old spoiled people and their jealous relatives.

3) Scamming people: crypto, NFTs, internet scams, get-rich-quick pyramid schemes, getting into politics, lying to investors… the possibilities are endless. High risk of ending up in the can.

Me and my friends easily made a few million from bitcoin and crypto. I’m still holding with hopes of the $100m threshold you mentioned. My plan now is to just get an mba and do a search fund with my money + credibility from m7

Start the business yes as others have said. But then plan an exit to get to your 100 million and exit earlier. Good luck.

My great uncle went from zero to at least $30m+ as an immigrant with no degree.

He's been a contractor in San Francisco for a long time. He builds houses and keeps a lot of them as rentals.

*Built, he died recently

Donald Bren started building houses in Orange County when no one lived there and the lots were super cheap. Now ~50-60% of the real estate is owned or was built and sold by his company, the Irvine Company and he's a billionaire.

So here's a possible strategy that requires both luck and skill (there's no way to $100m without rolling the dice a little): start acquiring, building, renovating, etc real estate in an area where no one lives or wants to live yet and if you do that for a long time and that place becomes an "in demand location" and "supply constrained" like SF or OC while you do it then your net worth will skyrocket.

Do I know how to do this? No way!

...but smarter people than me have and seems to have a non-zero chance of working out like this.

You need to start a business. Your chances of doing it working for someone else are very low. Or you need a high paying job and some luck on investments.

It all starts with a sex tape and the golden rules.

Rule 1: Don't be ugly
Rule 2: Be attractive

Then what you have to do is convert ALL (this is critical) of your dollars into venezuelan Pesos and just eat ramen every day. Also, you need to steal from homeless bums periodically to provide the necessary boost when something crazy happens.

Should have bought tons of bitcoin like I did in 2012😂

You dropped this 👑

What’s your current role? Let’s start a business together and hit this goal. $100mm each.

I wouldn’t start by asking for advice from people on the internet

Uh, not work for someone else.

Hope for high inflation to continue ! Easy to be a multimillionaire after a few years of 3-digit inflation…

USD or Zimbabwean dollars?

Wow pretty stupid question. If it’s just for the fancy number I agree with P2, inflation is the best option.

We'll all be hundred millionaires soon at this rate

Precisely this

Working in consulting aint gonna get ya there. Need equity in a business you found / co-found

Become a professional athlete, or famous actor, or perhaps an oil baron.

I know a few folks with over 100M. I'm friends with 2 billionaires. The billionaires were founders of successful technology companies. The 9 digit club members also founded and sold their technology companies (took early exits).

The way to get there would be to be an early member of a start-up (first 10 employees) and hope the co IPOs.

Working at hybrid model of IT company and PSU company. My employer IT company lost bid and now the contract is of another company. We have been asked that contract over as on 31.7.2022 and we are supposed to go and sit at company office. It's a loss of pay for 100 people on project. Our company said we can't join new bidder company because we signed agreement on offer letter that we won't be joining client for atleast a year. It's inconvenient and crazy for us.
