I wanted to share a thought with you, to remind our important role as community managers. I have been reading tons of suggestions about community engagement & email marketing recently, and I have even tried to apply some of them only to realize that they weren't working at all at least for my community. Here is an old but gold principle: nothing is set in stone, test, test, test. No one knows a community like its community manager. Have you experienced the same?

Yes OMG, everything is different for each community. What works for one doesn't work for another. Its all trial and error.

Oh, I definitely have experienced the same. It's easy to be swayed by the latest tips and tricks that other people have used in their communities, but it's important to remember that each community is unique and requires its own approach. I remember trying out a specific tactic to engage my community that had worked for a different community, only to find out that it didn't work for mine. It's important to be open-minded and try different things, but also to trust our gut and follow our instincts.

I kind of can't believe that anyone is managing communities WITHOUT testing. A/B testing is the bread and butter of any kind of community management

Yes! You are so right I keep trying to tell my bosses this. They hear something that someone else is doing and they want to implement it in our strategy but it just won't work with our community
