Maybe you want to look at something you would be better at? By your own admission, you weren't picking things up. Is there something else that you would be more qualified to do? The reality is you are competing with people that have more experience than you do.
I wouldn’t give up on your career if you enjoy it because of one negative experience but I would recommend that you reflect on what went wrong and how you can take some courses/ level up on areas of weakness during this time off. The reality is you probably shouldn’t address being fired if you can avoid it, but I wouldn’t try starting a new job without improving on skills and being able to offer those new skills in an interview. Also make sure to ask what programs or support are available for new entry level positions wherever you are looking. There are places/managers that are more patient and experienced in training ppl at this level
It's definitely not hopeless. At the end of the day, you have experience and you can talk about how you learned from your past job. It's a tough job market in general right now, but it's definitely possible to bounce back from this.
Was it technology that you were having a hard time picking up or procedures? Can you give some examples or you think it was across the board?

I wouldn't say it is hopeless, but the job market is very competitive. I would try to get referrals from friends and family if you can. Sometimes a referral can help you land a role.
One week is a very short time for a job search. Also, if you were fired from a big firm, most of them won’t disclose that and I don’t think you need to either.
