I was working at a consultancy as a graduate but was on the bench the bench for most of the time. I was made redundant 2 1/2 years later and then when travelling for an extended time but with the lack of client work and experience I’m finding it quite hard to even land any interviews. I have my certificate in Azure but I’m just wondering if anyone has any industry advice as I haven’t worked for almost 2 years now. I’ve looked into returners programs but they don’t seem to be open.

Look for an easy in with a company, then prove yourself in that role. That’s what I would do

I think that there are always opportunities. I just think that it’s important to adjust your perspective and look at the market that needs you and demands your skills and what you’re good at. There will always be gaps in technical proficiency, whether it’s Support, developing systems, the talents in this world are sometimes in my opinion, unseen for the talents that most of the colleagues and professional professionals in the tech world I have worked with when it comes to applied technology. Having said that working for consulting firm is difficult. If it’s a big five firm and you’re traveling all year it’s easy to lose your footing so take some time and think about what you’re really good at and don’t give up. Start your own agency, but for small companies.

Hello Fishes,
I am much stressed.. it’s only been 5 months to join Capgemini. I joined in as cyber security consultant with good package.
However, the work I do the tricks, logics and solutions I share with team to apply in the project… all are of no use when discussed with the architect guy. The whole team rely upon the wordings/solutions suggested by him only. It feels like my skill/knowledge and experience is of no use.
I feel like what am I doing here….? Any suggestions please.

Check me here: other side attorney has already reached out to me directly via email saying that an LOI is coming… Then, she sends the LOI addressed to my client, and CC:s me only. It should have been addressed & emailed to me, and copy the business folks, when an attorney knows the other side is represented by an attorney. Am I overreacting for being annoyed?

Looking to get a bit of insight on breaking into tech working as an executive assistant after working for BigLaw for 20+ years.

I've been applying to tech companies for executive assistant positions - in particular, remote work positions - and I have yet to get a nibble.

I'm extremely tech savvy and have a lot of initiative but I am afraid that these companies are put off by how long I've been working assuming that I am a middle-aged woman that is not able to go with the flow.

I always bill 100% of my time and for my entire career in public accounting I have never heard anything negative until recently.. I was told to watch my time as the client doesn’t like to pay these fees, and the partner is unhappy because it looks like I have high hours. Is the message that I should eat my time? Or is it that They think I’m inefficient?

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation. Not sure if that’s a typical caseload or not?
