I work in a software company as a lead
SDR for 2 years. As some people got promoted now I'm alined to be the next SDR manager of my territory, and this promotion could happen in the next month. Although this is a great opportunity and Id love to have the position I'm terrified of falling the people l'd manage, giving that this would be my first experience as manager. Do you have any advice on how to deal with this feeling? And any resources on the topic that might be beneficial? Thanks!

All I can say is, there is no school to be a manager. The fact you are already thinking about not wanting to fail people and your intrinsic want to be a good manager is already going to set you up for success. The professional works is full of awful managers.

There are leadership courses all managers should take before becoming a manager. Sounds like you have all the right concerns, so please look into taking the proper steps to be successful! You will be great if you work on yourself

Can you suggest some?

Send LinkedIn Managers SDR’s a DM. Management looks diff depending on your field. As a senior manger in my field. I don’t need to make quota to receive a paycheck. Also, how I knew the field wasn’t for me. My role is more about training others. Process & operations. Etc I see SDR’s/BDR’s giving advice all day to people in their fields on LinkedIn.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?
