I work in finance but have found that I’m not passionate about it and no longer look forward to my job. Contemplating switching careers but already have my MBA so not really looking to go back to school. Has anyone switched to a new career and how did that go? Possible career transitions: strategy, project manager, etc. would love any details about your experience!

Say I work in tech and have a decent finance experience. Would my 3 yoe of domain "expertise" in tech make me an attractive bet for the banks Tech coverage team? In other words, does having experience in Tech make me more hireable for IBD?

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I like my company, but I want to do less. I don’t need to be a HR Director, CHRO, etc. With a career slowdown, I am prepared for a lower compensation and would want decent benefits. I have been offered a position at a non-US B4 with a 2 year path to partner. I know one of the partners at the local firm and have the support of the regional service line lead, and am bringing a specialized skill set they are trying to open a new business around. The KPIs seem achievable and I’ll be in charm school to help build support within that timeline. Most of me thinks a 2 year path under these circumstances realistic but my inner skeptic is jaded.
