Definitely using both of these.

AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

Executives, HR, finance, middle management. Then potential cuts in project managers, business analysts and QA. Developers, dev ops, data scientists and other technical roles are generally last to be replaced if they are replaced at all.
Expect to "try out" for the new management. Have a list of things you are good at and approach it like a yearly review or interview.
I have worked on dozens of M&A deals from a consulting perspective and internally. SEM1 is spot on here ^
Your executive leadership will start leaving within the next couple years. It really depends on how much redundancies they have while consolidating teams. My suggestion is to start learning about the parent companies products. That’ll help your survival rate.
You are either making it. Selling it or supporting those that do. All support roles usually go away. Anyone making non on target and mission stuff get cut. If you are redundant you will likely get cut sooner HR. Marketing. Support roles go first
Anything redundant. Also a time for petty management to take revenge so really could be anything or anyone.
Depends on which functions overlap and which products have similar tech stack
