Marriott
Just trust us on this.. hotel availability and point redemption are two good reasons
Marriott - point redemption, while not amazing, is straightforward and easy to use. Lots of good ways to get points...a lot of choices in major cities to suit travel at all kinds of levels. I like it due to # of choices, easy of use and transparency of points usage. Other hotel chains may give you higher/better points value and potentially better customer service, but can’t match Marriott for business travel convenience IMO.
I prefer Hilton purely for the double tree free cookies.

I chose Starwood because it had the best loyalty program and then they were acquired by Marriott. So far the loyalty program at Marriott is pretty good. There are hotel options almost anywhere I want to go. Tbh I don’t know much about Hilton, though.
The responses are blowing me away. Been with Marriott nearly a decade and I’m switching to Hilton.
Hilton all the way. Service, point value, etc. Marriott has one win though, when you’re in a small town that doesn’t have a non Marriott option.
Depends on what Starwood brand, Marriott brand - definitely not.
Hyatt is superior to both from a rewards and quality perspective, however their reach outside of major cities is dwarfed by both Hilton and Marriott.
I agree with this. Hyatt is the nicest and has the best point value! Also the hotels overseas are usually very luxurious
Pro
Marriott.
I prefer Hilton
Why?
Marriott, they have the availability, point accrual is amazing, usage of points is easy, and customer service is great.
Hilton points are typically worth less since redemptions are pegged to the cash price of the hotel while Marriott’s aren’t, if that impacts your decision at all
Marriott, as much as I hate to say, they just have more options and availability across the u.s and europe
Hilton's points accrual to points/night expenditure rayio is way less favorable than Marriott's. You can rake in a million Hilton points and it's still only good for, at most, 20 nights (not counting the 5th night free for every 4 deal). Marriott, on the other hand, goes a lot further with a million points.
Marriot
It depends if the period and the city’s I have platinum with Marriott and diamond with Hilton, somehow Hilton will surprise me with cheaper points that take less night to accumulate
