Hi,
If I get referred at IBM, get a mail for details from the HR but do not reply as I currently don't want to switch because of some reasons, can I get referred again after say 3 months?
Asking cuz the profile blocks for an year after applying/getting referred at Accenture.
Please help with the answer.

Shouldn't if you were laid off. Most of those contracts apply to you opting to leave for the client
Unlikely. They want to continue working with the client
Depending on where you live these are not really enforceable
Honestly, it depends on your level as well. The rule says you cannot join the client for 1 year but you can get an override by some process ( you might want to check it with someone you have good relationship in the leadership)
First off, just don’t tell your previous employer where your new jobs is. Second off, no they won’t come after you. They’re not doing to waste the time, money, and resources for small fish like this
Did you have a non-compete?
I can’t find any document, all my access to the company portal where I signed all the documents have been restricted
Big4?
Yes
Got laid off in Canadian firm. My forced exit agreement says no work for any client worked for last 6 months.
Unless they gave you money to agree to this there’s no reason to sign it. I left a firm and refused to do so for the ~2 weeks severance they offerred.
It’s typically in the proposal of work that they can’t solicit you for 12 months or so. I don’t know how that works if you reach out but I would find a proposal and see the specific language if you could
How did you do that? Do you have to set up your own one person consulting company for that?
You should be fine. Partners and higher restrictions in Big 4. You roll be a potential sales pipeline. Almost any non consulting company would be a client of your firm.
Also because you were laid off you should be okay. Read your employment contract you sign below joining
It’s in your employment contract, but it’s also very specific language that you can’t provide consulting or advisory services to a previous client for X amount of time if you choose to leave the firm. So going to work for a previous client as an FTE is not breaking your contract. I had a really in-depth conversation with HR about these clauses when I got my new employment contract
Two things: First, as some mentioned above it was a lay off and second, I joined as a contractor (Not a FTE) for six months; meaning the client has their contingent employment division (CED) and uses third party to pay me the salary. Also I was just a SC. So I’m assuming the CED did their research to offer me the contracting role and also I didn’t join as a advisor capacity, I take direct instructions from client and do my day to day activities where as in my previous role I was part of an engagement and completed the project without client supervision. Not sure if all this matters.
Maybe wait to post it on your LinkedIn. Might hurt you. You should be fine but don’t make to much noise
