I would get a marketing degree. I got mine in Sociology. What about you?

Why engineering? I always see this haha, it’s not that great over here for mechanical engineers. Software engineers have it better but not by as much as you would be led to believed from all the tik toks and the last 3 years.

I would get mine in accounting . I did my degree in marketing but it has become a hassle at this point. What about you?

I have mine in accounting and finance currently, but would probably go back and do engineering or computer science.

A question from a youngster. Is working at a big big company with slightly low pay better or working at a much smaller company with higher pay better?

In the future, after a few years, let’s say I’m at a small company and want to switch to big big company, will the “small names” hurt my chance to get into the big doors?

I mean big big company is like 10x bigger than the small one if this was a factor. Assume everything else the same, WLB, commute, teams, etc.

How do you choose between two awesome career opportunities?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

Hi, fishes.
A quick query here.

I'm going to move from non IT profile to IT profile. Basically I'll be applying as front end engineer in new company. Previously I was working in a BPO profile.
Just wanted to ask if I'll be provided training in my initial months as a front end engineer or am I expected to work from the very first day.
Your comments will be really helpful.

Thank you.
