I left as a senior, sometimes I regret it because those who stayed are at a manager level now. However, I have a great work life balance and still make good money. I also feel less stressed and I now have a child so it’s a good trade off. I wouldn’t be able to be as involved with my child and work had I stayed at the Big 4.
I left as an S3 to Cohnreznick. Got experience having 5+ ongoing clients at a time and financial statement preparation. Was there for a little over a year and now just transitioned to a financial reporting role for a $2B company going through IPO. Only thing I regret is not leaving a year or two earlier. I make way more money and work maybe 30-35 hrs weeks.
Oh gotcha, misread it. Yea i’m in industry doing 35 hours and it’s great
I was at Cohn and was working 50 hours 😪
I left as a M1 to industry and it was the best decision for me, higher pay, better benefits and no busy season
To each their own, right? Some want longer PA trajectory while others want to pivot to industry sooner rather than later. Different wants, different goals. Some boomerang back once they get a taste of the other side. Gotta venture out to see what you're missing/not missing. Is the grass greener or it is spray painted? 🤷
Left as a senior to go to industry as sr. internal auditor. Never been so bored in my life, already put in my app to go back.
Left as an S2. Got a raise and it's been the best year of my life. I love having actual work-life balance.
I left and was scared that I would regret it! Moved to another consulting company. But I make so much more money than in audit and can never justify going back......and also progression at current company is so much quicker.
