Why not wrap in aluminum foil with an ice pack adjacent. Should be fine for two days I’d think.
Yes. Many chocolate companies won’t ship certain times of the year without a special packaging surcharge. Also if you put chocolate on ice it will bloom.
My boss ships me chocolate fairly often and I’ve learned to hide it because my children pillage it as if they’ve never before seen food.
Depends on the time of year. Yes, add a frozen cool-pack this time of year and be sure to ship during the week (2-day shipping could be delayed by the weekend). Also, keep in mind that the interior of the package will end up damp from condensation, so ziploc anything that could be damaged separately.
Switch to shipping wine instead
Yes, it also does not do well in heat.
OP just send spoons and tell the recipient to find their own food.

Does it have time to cool at its destination?
I would have a chocolate company send it. They should know what to do. :) But if you’re insisting to send yourself, my uncle sends salmon from Alaska to the lower 48 from time to time. He uses a specific box labeled for the purpose and packs it with dry ice. Using dry ice is key as a leaking package isn’t allowed by any carrier.
