Reliability should be OK. Modern Aston’s have full Mercedes power trains.

The car you drive day to day doesn’t need to be the same car you take for a road trip or for a Sunday drive. Especially for higher end cars with a greater maintenance cost/mile.
If you’re on a 3 week road trip/camping excursion across the country with your family, an RV makes a lot of sense. But you wouldn’t want to daily drive an RV to work.
My bumper to bumper commute, or errands, I take my EV. On very rare occasions I’ll take the M5 which is my “fun car” reserved for date night, events, or weekend drives. But I don’t want to “waste” mileage on the M5 with my commute.

I looked at getting a cheap old Aston Martin, then saw that windshield replacements are $25k and changed my mind. 😳
If he can find a 2009 vantage for $40k, he must be in the UK
