Not worth it for silver
Silver is worse than no status because it means you fly somewhat often but still don’t get perks
Thanks all. Helpful to hear your thoughts! I think I’ll forgo the expensive upgrade and see if an opportunity arises for a cheap weekend trip

What’s your origin city?
I’d typically say it’s not worth attempting and definitely not worth spending $500 to get $250 benefit. But this years criteria was designed to lump low end golds in to next years silver.
And the seat selection is nice if you’ll fly delta at all next year and want priority seats. I could rationalize spending $250 if you’d appreciate legroom (not upgrades)
I’m out of MSP. Lots of flight options, but was just rated as one of the most expensive cities to fly out of because Delta controls almost the entire market
Maybe for overhead bin space (higher level than others), but that’s about it

I wouldn’t spend $500 on an upgrade but I’d consider taking a separate day trip for $250 to somewhere fun. The ability to book economy+ within 24 hours is worth it to me.
