Need advice. I’m a super senior content EP at a well known agency in the U.S., where I’ve been for quite some time. Checked out http://Glassdoor.com, and I make at the high end of the ranges for similar agencies. In the past year I’ve also taken on additional responsibilities (outside of traditional EP duties) that have doubled my workload and raised my profile quite a bit. How should I go about brining up a sizable salary bump (some creatives and even planning peeps earn more with much less responsibility)?

Though there is no fix parameter to access this...buy in general this package is definitely good
Humble-brag?
I am five years older than you and happily living with half of what you make, with a shit ton of savings and enough for my kid's college without taking a loan. Ctfo.
50 LPA is a good package for any age group to live a comfortable life in India, until your greed is hurting your ego. Then it’s a different story altogether.
Thank you for sharing ... that is indeed impressive and deserving _/\_
It doesn't matter.
All that matters is how much you have saved and saving now.
The salary range is subjective don't get into this loop.
I just cut my package from 55 to 45 just for family sake.
Everything is subjective my friend
Just to make this more objective, maybe the question should be - what's the average salary of people in this group who are around 40 years of age (very small sample size Ig but still)?
Is 50 full fixed or it includes variable or rsu?
I wonder who is giving 50LPA to you because even at 39 age you are not able to figure out what is good for you..Then how will you take decisions in your job!!!
I am 31 and earning 62k per month, but no complaints and living my life happily. Calm down buddy..you are still richer than 95% of Indians!
@Author..
It doesn't matter what you earn..it matters how you live and how you want to live.
If you don't live as you wish, then everyday might seem a drag or a bore (obviously you live within ethical and legal constraints)
Now bringing in some comparisons:
If you are a Software professional your CTC is quite high (top 10% or even rarer)
If you are a marketing professional (with 2 degrees) event then your CTC is quite good for a 12-14 YOE by Indian pay scale
Grade A govt officers also usually don't enjoy a 50 lakh p.a. CTC (even with their benefits allotted) at your age band.
So be grateful and make decisions of how you want to live
Cheers!
I have 5.5lpa packet and expecting 10 lakh
How you think on 50lpa bro
I am 34 and making 52 fixed + 10% variable. Have a better offer in hand and planning a switch but not here to give any life lessons, just answering your question.
Just 50L toh aapne aise likhdiya jaise 50k hoga.
Stop running this race between your peers and others. 50L at any age is good enough to live a decent life in any city in India.
But Ambani jaise showk hain toh 50 cr bhi kam pdega
Strongly agree
All you guys having a meltdown - I'm not looking for validation or life lessons, I just wanted to know what's the average range in this group. Call it benchmarking, call it survey. But given the responses I just think there aren't enough people in this age bracket in this group
I am in the same age group and same salary bracket and I can say no salary is enough unless you have huge savings/investments. All that matters is how much wealth you have built over the years. I have been pretty bad with personal finance and slowly started understanding the value of it (not quite there yet).
I would assume your salary to be a good salary from avg career progression perspective but low if you compare with high achievers. However you are earning decent my friend.
I’m 35, making 43LPA fixed with 12yrs of experience
Good
Can you direct me to your employer? Want to pitch a cost saving project by identifying high-income employees who spend a lot of time online rather than in office matters.
Don't ignore.. Coz they are key for assessment of the company and help you grow.. Best of luck...
Salary is function of Skill ,
So if you are in any service company 50 LPA means partner level Position, hard to grow
if you take mid product size, age of 40 around people make 60 to 80 LPA
if you take big product (tech ones) 1.5 CR plus is also possible
if its startup - no idea
Considering you are pro in your job, can manage multiple roles with ease, good with tech, solutioning, stakeholder mangement and deliverables at same time
Such kind of comments and retort create Fomo in SM.
EVERYONE here should realise that if the OP gets 50 lpa then he or she is bringing revenue/valuation /sale of atleast 8-10x that .
So either he is working in a high arbitrage product/service or his account size is in million of dollars yearly.
Those who can reach at ch a profile can demand such or more CTC and those who can't ...well can only aspire for now
