I’m a corporate associate with 5 years experience (M&A and general business/corporate work). I feel like I may want to leave the law for more balance in life, but no idea what to do next. What is a typical paycut expected for a midlevel in biglaw going to an in-house legal department (NYC corporate)?

I’m a fifth year associate who is ready to get out of litigation (and private practice altogether). I’ve only ever done professional malpractice (legal, med mal, etc) and feel like those skills will not transfer as well if I had done transactional work. Ideally I would like to transition to something in-house. Any suggestions as to what jobs/industries I could transfer into with only litigation experience?

I have been overworked and overwhelmed at my current job for quite a while. This is my first position out of law school, small firm with large caseload, and in my second year of practice. I often think I should look for another opportunity elsewhere but I don't know that any other firms would give me the potential for growth and experience that I am getting here.
