There are people who spend unnecessary amounts of money on luxury clothing. Never feel out of place.
That's true. Thank you!
Post reading this post, I thought of sharing my story too. I'm a girl working for the last 6 yrs with a decent salary of 22 LPA but no savings. If I talk to people and say I cnt go on trips as I dnt have money or cnt join them for outings to clubs they think I'm a stingy person. But all have different priorities and responsibilities, if I want I cn spend 80K per month just on myself and look rich like others mentioned wannabe rich person bt I chose not to do that, I have one frnd like that who will spend all her salary on trips and clubbing in monthend she will cry for even 2K. I chose not to do that not to have that life, still I'm also not having any savings and hardly have 5K out of 1.5 lpa pm salary but reason is totally diff, so for outsiders I may be a stingy or shabby person bt I know why I'm so.
My father sacrificed a lot for our education, he went into extreme debt to fulfil our needs and to give us the education we wanted because earlier he sacrificed alot for his family and in return got nothing. He gave 5 LPA for his brother's daughter marriage as they begged for it (I dnt even want to call them family or cousin to be honest) by taking debt as his salary was only 10K that time only thinking they will help him in returning it which was his biggest mistake. That was 20 yrs ago and till now he is still in debt as the interest went till 50LPA. So anyone else will not think abt spending money on their child during such time bt he did, he gave us best education by listening to taunts of others saying if u dnt have money why are you spending on these things, just marry off ur girls with the money as dowry which u r spending on their education.
I'm glad my father didn't listen to them, he is my hero and my everything. So now I'm earning I spent all on clearing his debt, as an elder daughter I take it as my responsibility to help my father, my sister and brother are still in college so once they also get jobs hope we will do it together.
Basically I wanted to share this story to say dnt think how others feel or look, you know ur own situation and priority better than anyone else and focus on yourself on achieving ur goals like for me my goal is to make my father debt free. If my husband supports my decision I'm ok else I won't 3ven marry. That's it even if the world considers us as outsiders or outcast let them but in our story we r main lead right and we should behave like one.
You are doing amazing. Each good hearted parents deserve a daughter like you.👏👏👏
Bro why compare? Just think in absolute terms,
1) Do you not have good clothes?
2) Do you not eat good and abundant food?
3) Do you not have a good place to live which gives you safety?
4) Do you not enjoy leisure time?
If the answer is that you have all the above, you are privieldged. There is no upper limit to anything. There will always be one big shot who will be many steps ahead of you!
Still if you want to compare then please compare with underpriveleged:
1) Beggars
2) People living below poverty line
3) Daily wage earners
You will start feeling a lot priveledged.
Sense of satisfaction for me is knowing that i can afford that thing but wouldnt buy as it is just a matter of few minutes and these shouldn’t become a criteria for me to get along with those braggy people. Just my views.🤞

World ka 2nd richest bhi world ke 1st wale ko dhk ke same sochta hai there is no end.
If you are satisfied with everything you are good. We should be happy that we are building the emperor from scratch.
Never go for that. Those can be brats with their father’s money or can be loaners(running on credit card and loans) to show off. I knew a person from tcs with 3 lpa salary driving Royal Enfield , another one from cognisant with 3.6 lpa driving creta. So keep ignoring them. You should have good bank balance, mental health and happiness, that’s what matters. We primarily live for ourself not to impress others, always remember
My friend who earns 1.05 lpa pm spent 1 lacs on her clothes last to last month. Answers you

Wow. That's insane!
Don't worry about it. Wear what you need to and feel comfortable in. Invest wisely, take care of parents, help a few poor people if that's your thing. Ignore the social rat race. They might be much richer or may be spending loaned or someone else's money.
Who goes to Church Street nowadays. It's full of wannabes. But to be honest, I don't understand your post. I come from a family of coffee planters and we have a house on Rest House Road which was a pain to live in. So we just rented it out and moved to a quaint neighbourhood in Indiranagar. Then Indiranagar became a mess and that house too was a pain to live in so we rented it out and moved to another nice neighbourhood near Ulsoor lake, still staying there and it's beautiful.
I have family members who run restaurants and pubs and their only target is to get wannabes spend huge sums on weekends, and their target is a young crowd with disposable income or those who want to spend. Basically cash in on FOMO. But they will never spend their money on eating and drinking out and will sit at home and eat and drink. One of my cousins once told me, invest 1-1.5cr, create an ambience, employ the best chefs, use a marketing agency to get the crowds, and sit at home and enjoy the cash register clinking.
So if you want to help someone else get rich, sure go for it or you will always be missing out! 😁
Don't get me wrong, but all I'm trying to say is the wannabe crowd wants to live and stay and party in these crowded places where traffic is a menace, parking issues and noisy and crowded neighbourhoods. They want to show off to the world they have arrived. But the real fun of life lies in peace of mind, financial independence and the ability to do what you want with your time and not what others want you to do in that time. And such people you will surely not find them roaming around, wiling away their time on Church Street
I stay in Mumbai yet go on Kittos to the office and parties IDGAF🤣
Same I moved to pune but yet I have not explored anything here🥺😅
I feel there will always be people living luxurious life than us , no matter how much you are earning. And then there are people who can't even afford bare minimum level of comfort. We need to find a middle ground that works best for us. Else we will just keep chasing others and not have a peaceful mind .
The key is to look at people below you..the ones who aren’t even able to afford bare minimum and struggling for necessities. You will feel much better in comparison and happy for what you have..The real satisfaction is helping those who need it..
I had a mix of both these feelings
Once felt to buying all these kinds of clothes and look good
Now i feel a plain black and white shirt and normal pants will do 😅 fit body and attitude matters more .. now i am behind minimalism 🫣 but thats also becoming a trend these days 🙃

Those are the people who are hiring people like us!
So there are people who fall in different categories
1. Wealthy people who do not believe in showoff...example Sudha Murthy, Ratan Tata...you will not find such rich people in church street because they have many good things to do...
2. Rich people generational wealth - they may or may not choose to showoff...we can never compete with them even if we are earning 1cr package..trust me with this..ignore them.
3. Now these are middle class or lower middle class boys and girls who choose to buy some second hand or cheap clothes online and find a rich partner , date them, make them pay their bills in return for favours....
4. People like you and me who struggle , work hard to reach that 30lpa and still feel we are not earning enough or doing enough for our family...yes bro, we exist but all you need to do is not bother or compare with anyone of the above mentioned category unless you want to follow #3...
Be happy with whatever you have earned :) If our need is limited we will be able to maintain throughout as source of income depends on our job:)
This post seems relatable hence so much to ponder and so many to respond.

That's true indeed!
There is nothing in the world that is to be tried... It's completely your choice of action.
Someone regrets not experiencing a few things once after getting old.. Self experience is everything..
It's not that your actions are to be supported 😀
Don't try and fall in the FOMO with what you see. Often people who earn less, want to look rich, and people who earn more, lives plain and simple.
You have a CTC of 30LPA
I earn 12 LPA post tax. How should I feel now?
12 LPA is quite low… Consult a CA and save taxes
No matter how much money you earn, there will definitely be people who earn more than you and vice-versa. You have to be satisfied else the feelings will never go away. Meanwhile you can continuously try to upgrade yourself to be in a better position where you are now
Sometimes people with 4-5 LPA salary will "display" better clothing and lifestyle than someone who is at a much higher salary say 40LPA and above. I feel the same but it doesn't affect me because I know I can afford so much more but choose to be lowkey and not show-off.
See the thing is we have a huge package that's good but we are tax payers. And some of us are having responsibilities families to look after.
Mostly those who have multiple earning members or they're doing some business as they can easily become poor on paper to save taxations or someone has a relative in Saudi or some high paying countries.
There's standard is way too high.Too hard to compete also there's no end of luxurious
Most of us are not living life at the fullest.
