Okay this is true

I recently started GC with EY law. I haven’t seen any case process since late august and there are a few items past due. The lawyers are not responding to my emails, does anyone know how to get a better sense of case progress and possibly to get the lawyers to speed up the process? Thanks! EY

At the very least a third of the attorney fee
We have an agreed split of origination credit of 2/3 to me and 1/3 to the EP. So the EP has acknowledged I’m doing more than just working it up.
Be careful here. You’re in waters with sharks who don’t know the rules of personal injury norms. If you don’t care, then go hard. You will probably burn bridges with some of the partners even if you don’t know it. But if you care, find out what the norm is for somebody in your market at a PI firm that just works the file. Then add a little kicker for being able to keep it in house. Business lawyers are not going to see this the same way.
Good points. I know of at least 2 firms that I could transfer to and take this case with me where my take home would be significant (even after factoring in what my current firm’s cut would be if I moved firms at this point). I am happy at my current firm, but if there is a take home difference of more than $1MM for me, I would be stupid not to make a move. Not going to play this card up top but I think it’s a rational argument to have in my back pocket.
