I'm a staff 2 up for senior. I have an opportunity to break into FP&A as an analyst with a pretty nice pay bump/package in my opinion. If I am absolutely sure I do not want to do accounting, is it better to start in FP&A now rather than later, especially if this company is willing to train me? I see it's hard for a lot of people from audit to get into FP&A so I'm not sure if i'm missing my signal to bounce here.

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?

I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?
