I'm about to graduate & came to law school with the goal of being a public defender. I'm still open to the idea & I think it's still a worthy stepping stone (& I LOVED the 3 years I spent interning w/ pubdefs! Super fun!) but I've really come to love ideas of constitutional litigation & Bivens/1983 actions. Anyone here have any experience in that area? Not quite criminal defense but closely related I think. Would love to pick your brain, especially if you are in PA or DC.

The Job requirement says its Entry Level, but the experience it requires is always 6 year+... like how would a fresher match that.. should I've started coding at 6th grade or what?

Are there any tax professionals in the Lancaster, PA area that are looking to leave public? The recruiter for my company says there's no one out there and I get that a LCOL area in Pennsylvania won't have the applicant pool as a bigger city but I find it hard to believe there are no tax people available for the jobs we have.

First-year tax staff that started end of Q3, and just had my first year-end performance evaluation meeting. Has anyone ever posted a general marketing position? We have an open position on our marketing team but we are unsure what type of position to offer. We have a wide variety of needs but don’t necessarily need to have this future person have all these skills. For example we need someone with great copywriting skills and also need someone who is great at digital marketing. I’m a new associate working for a well-known defense attorney in my state. On one hand, I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn from one of the best, but he also excoriates and belittles me for my mistakes. Any advice on how much it tolerable? I am here to learn and advance my career but he can be pretty nasty. (My mistakes are no worse than you’d expect a 1st year associate to make, in case you’re all wondering if I’m a major screw-up who deserves it) I leave work feeling a foot tall.
