What are your thoughts about someone willing to pursue SAP consulting as a career ? Oracle and SAP are standard ERP systems in Fortune/Big companies so even if one joins and learns in 2-3 yrs what are the growth opportunities in SAP ? I do recognize that there are a lot of advanced planning systems out there but in reality is it fair to assume that one can easily plateau off in 5 yrs from a career progression standpoint?SAP Oracle o9 Solutions Blue Yonder Kinaxis Inc.

Litigation skills are definitely transferable. Although if you wanna do transactional entertainment law then that'll be an extra step. But no cause for concern, my entertainment law professor said litigation is a great foundation to get into any area of entertainment law.
Getting into copyright law is probably the most obvious first step. Or some CLEs in that area. The industry is built on copyrights so even if you're doing transactional work, you need to know the fundamentals. And it's a strong indicator of your interest in the entertainment field, should you ever interview for a position.
I was in your position before starting my entertainment law firm. My clients have been nominated for Grammys and have global followings. I decided to start my entertainment practice with little experience but read as much as I could and networked as much as I could. I eventually convinced a famous client to let me handle their small contract review and negotiations instead of being over billed by their large law firm and attorneys, and this turned into them hiring me as their sole attorney and led to word of mouth and more referrals. You have transferable skills already via PI experience including negotiation, document drafting, research/writing, and contract and court knowledge.!
