I agree with your decision. It’s the reality of profession.
Realize that the discontent you’re feeling is an indication that it’s time for a change.
Perhaps, moving in-house, as the previous poster suggested.

I’m reading Cal Newport’s So Good They Can’t Ignore You and have found it to be a refreshing take about using your “career capital” to make the career you want. Essentially, if don’t want to keep climbing, then don’t. If you’re good at what you do, there are other ways to leverage that into a career and life you want.
