I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Def not penalized. Encouraged especially during slow times
Everyone had both an “effective utilization” and a “charged hours” goal for the year. Both of which are attainable while still taking all of your PTO. Basically no one even pays attention to full utilization (aka your utilization without removing pto or illness from the equation).
I used all of my sick time and vacation last year, nobody cares and if they do you don’t want to work with them anyways.
I work at EY and definitely take all my vacation and would never penalize someone for taking all of theirs. I have even signed up for ADO-additional days off in which you can take up to an extra two weeks but not get paid for those extra weeks.
I haven't been penalized. Last year I even told my boss a few days were about to expire and he said it was a good idea to get them used up.
However, this will really depend about the team you're on.
Hi - EY Partner here; yes, please take all of your vacation. You earned it and we want you to take it. Really important for you as a person to get time off and relax. Also, important to have vacations planned or being planned - helps to have one on the horizon to look forward to. Hope you join us OP.
That's one of the benefits i like most at EY. Senior 2 here, and i took all 25 days, and all 10 sick days (had an injury) and never had a negative conversation at all, in fact I've always felt encouraged to use my time. Also there's 16 weeks off when you or your partner have a baby (regardless if your the primary care giver or not) which ive also taken and been encouraged to take.
For the birth mother, 6 wks disability + 10 weeks leave.
For anyone else, 16 weeks leave.
Hey - not an EY partner, but agree with the EY partner’s comments. Also, you will probably find it difficult to take all those days off in a given year with all the holidays, floating holidays, shut downs, etc. I am generally more concerned about the people on my team that aren’t taking any than if they are taking the time they are provided.
You do get 25 days, but I think the firm requires you to use 4? Of them at a specified time. (2 during christmas and 2 during 4th of July)
5. 2 at Christmas, 3 at 4th of July
I heard using all of your personal/sick days helps with utilization bc it’s reduces the base of the hours they calculate it against. Is this true?
Yup, when you take vacation days it reduces the denominator in your effective utilization and increases the percentage.
Always good to use all your vacation.
I’m coming from a firm with a way less generous PTO policy. Just trying to find out if this is too good to be true.
^ No exaggeration. That's definitely the "catch". But you can definitely use all 25 days. Under the old policy I would make a stink if I was at risk for forfeiting even one day.
Nope
