I’m currently an Audit manager in the UK for big4. I want to work abroad, potentially either somewhere in mainland Europe (France, Netherlands, Germany for example) or potentially further afield (Aus, US, CA). What is the best way to move abroad in Finance? Transfer with my big4 firm, or get a job in industry/how to get an overseas job in industry?

Currently in IBM at Band 9 (Austin,TX) and getting around 195k base. Just been approached by EY recruiter for Senior Manager position. Wondering if I should consider exploring it or not! What could be pay range for a Senior Manager in EY? Also, what career level of IBM is it equivalent to ? (Band 9 or Band 10)?

Have others found it hard to transition from Audit to Financial Analyst? All the recruiters I’m meeting with are telling me I probably won’t get an interview since they’re looking for someone who’s ready to hit the ground running.
It’s discouraging because I’m a fast learner, and from talking to my friends who are Financial Analysts, it doesn’t seem like what we do is so dissimilar.

Good evening Everyone, I have been a PSR for 10 years with the same company, but worked for 5 different practices. Was looking to move up in our company but from what I’m understanding, we have to have a degree in management. How would I go about trying to move up in and out of my position without a degree?

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I've been applying to jobs for months but every position wants at least 2yrs of experience in real estate transactions, usually way more. I'm at 1yr+ doing HOA/condo work but have had no opportunity to do real estate transactions like I expected. Seems like the only way to get the experience is to have nailed a big law gig right out of school and get put into that practice.
