Thought I'd share another leadership opportunity, this time for industry leaders in the Tech & Digital sector. Would love to connect with anyone who is a senior leader (MD / SVP) with deep experience in this sector alongside leadership experience in a TA / Growth or Client Relationship environment. Amazing opportunity to further establish and grow our presence with global leaders in Tech.

Honestly it’s a gamble - there are good and bad groups of people at all of the B4. However if you already requested a change and they outright told you no, that’s a bigger cultural issue and I would seek somewhere else if they are already showing that they don’t care for their people.
Tone at the top is where it all starts my friend. Luckily you are so new in your journey that switching will not have an impact on your development or progression
If you like the firm, maybe try asking your counselor/people consultant if you can switch teams/service lines to change things up? I was in a similar position and fortunately was put on another client part time to help. If you’d like - feel free to message me, would be happy to help in anyway possible!
I already did that and they put me on another team. I kind of want to stay quiet. If I was gonna be with the same people would rather stay on the original client the work was so much more interesting
Don’t stay. If you’re able to get an increase in salary, work in the areas you like, and have better benefits (which Deloitte had Berger benefits and less restrictive independence than EY) then switch! I was in a similar position where I worked with a bad teammate. I addressed this with management and they didn’t do anything do to nepotism. This ended up causing many people to leave because one bad Apple can have a large impact when working in a small team.
Yes, I just used it this week.
If you like the overall culture at EY, try talking with your counselor and tell them you are seriously considering going to another B4 and explain why. I know of a staff 2 (at the time) who went to put in her 2 weeks, told them it was related to her workload/teams, and they took her off those teams and she is now in a different service line.
I didn’t work in accounting I just got my MSA last year, so I got in through campus recruiting. That could be the issue too, I’m older and I literally get feedback like we shouldn’t have to train you, you should know this.

I’m facing the same dilemma but at pwc
It’s so hard because I really like the culture at EY overall. There no nice way to say this but the people I work with suck. I wish they would let me work with another team so maybe I can actually learn something.

What advisory position were you offered? Not everything named advisory is actual consulting work
Thanks, I hate control testing now for the little bit a do my least favorite part of the job. I know to turn that down.
Take a leap of faith... everything happens for a reason!
I’m in a different office then everyone on my team so when we have meetings they talk about things where they live and stuff and I just sit there confused. I try to chime in but I really don’t know anything they’re talking about.
I don’t think I ever said it’s toxic. It’s just when I try to get to know them they cut me off and start talking about other things. A new person joined the team a few weeks ago, they asked this person what he likes to do for fun, where did he go to school, etc. No one ever did that with me. It doesn’t make you feel great
