Comparison is the thief of joy- job security, always. If you’re happy where you are now, FAANG is gonna be there later.
No. It’s only companies that overhired. FAANG is mostly slowing recruiting, not laying people off. And even if they did, this is the best job market since like the 70s. We’re talking half-century highs in job openings and lows in labor participation. It will be a fascinating recession if it happens in the next 12-18 months.

The market is still fairly tight I don’t think you should worry too much yet. Every FAANG company was a startup and I bet everyone at a FAANG company wished they were there when it was a startup. If comp. Is comparable FAANG doesn’t offer anything more and probably offers less experience than the startup.
are you Indian ? Keep seeing such posts from Indian guys everywhere. i
OP, I see your point but contemplating on things that are out of your control gets you no where. At the end of the day, your skills & contacts to get another job, should give a true sense of security.
This question was basically worrying me in terms of h1b approvals.
I’m very new to this process and do the bigger companies have an edge of getting h1bs approved compared to startups?
Let me add, when companies need to let people go, it will not be your level, they let go middle management who are on much higher wages. 1 SVP might have the wages of 3 associates
Well, contractors might be the first to let go even before FTEs.
