I’m exhausted. I’ve been up till 2 AM in front of my laptop three times out of last two weeks because of ‘Strict deadline’ for multiple projects

Is it ever really that strict? Is accounting really that serious Or is it just my team or leadership not pushing back? Does anyone ever lose a client if you deliver a day or two late?

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

Is this too big of an ask on a new employer if I request unpaid leave for this time? Can I export a list with all emails I sent for the month? I would like to use it to compare to my billed time to make sure I don’t miss anything.
