Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

Oh yes the perks of WFH with a four year old (I’m a single mom) and a NYC quarantine and no childcare. And yes I’m extremely grateful to have a job. And yes I was kidding about expensing my cable bill! Just venting after a 12 hour workday, Jesus. Wrong forum.
. . .yeah uh. On behalf of all of finance, your *100% personal* expense has been rejected. But appreciate the fact that there’s still some big dreamers in this industry.
You pay $234 for cable and internet!? Jesus Christ.
Shouldn’t you just be happy you’re not one of the millions filing for unemployment? Have some perspective, I beg of you.
Oh I feel you on that (for me it’s a teenager bouncing off the walls stuck at home). Sorry to come at you so hard. Just a lot of these “I’m going to expense my electricity” type posts that come across as serious and super privileged but parenting during all this is no joke. Hopefully your employer is sympathetic and supportive. Hang in there!
Were you on dial up before and this is a new thing for you? I don’t get all these “I have to work from home now so I’m going to expense my cb2 chair I sit in that I bought 3 years ago” posts. You still have a job and you’re not commuting. WFH has usually been considered a perk.
Thank you, I appreciate it @Director 1! Humanity is very important these days. (That said I’m sure I came off like a grifting, entitled jerk. My best hang in there vibes to you, too!
Good luck with that. 😆

uhm.. that’s extremely high! You should be paying $30-80. (I get 1gigbit internet for $80)

optimum online was like $30-40 and it was 100mb speeds. NJ — New accounts get a discount (also: own, don’t rent your router). To keep that discount for another year you can call their “retention” department. 😉 I used to do it all the time to keep my promotion (1-2 years ago). If you play nice and stick around with them, they might give you an extra 100-200mb in speed (for free). That’s what happened to me!
I’m now with Verizon. I needed the gigabit speed since I work with files that are over 1GB in size.
We ‘re not expensing any of that for WFM. And honestly, if that helps stave off layouts by not putting a larger strain on company finance, great.
Yes, I hear your ire, @R/GA 1 ... (fishbowl doesn’t let you delete your dumb, tone-deaf posts). I was frustrated by a long day of Suddenly Homeschooling and an appalling cable bill. I will not be expensing anything from WFM. I regret this post! Please forgive me. Signed, exhausted mom
