I should mention that I absolutely do not want to do anymore tax, and the main goal in leaving is to reduce hours and chaos.

In house VC or private equity? Maybe an in house M&A expert? We have one but he is based in Switzerland and has a banking background

Yeah going to a fund sounds good if it might provide a decent lifestyle. I know it varies pretty widely.
