I’m looking for a career switch into S&T (Sales desk) and have been trying for almost a year now. I graduated 2.5 years ago at a target school. I work in Corp Dev and previously IB. I’m finding this to be extremely difficult and most experienced roles require extensive experience. Would it be a stretch to reach out to HR at firm’s hiring summer students and seeing if they’d consider me as an intern with the intention of staying full-time afterwards? That’s how bad I want it.

I'm italian, 26 yo and currently working in France as financial analyst.
Work environment is great, friendly and multicultural but I don't like the job at all.
Personal life is not so nice since I manage to see my family and gf every 30/45 days only. Colleagues have their own lives and at the end we don't hang out much.
My dilemma is:
A) going back to Italy at a lower salary with less growth opps but better personal life or
B) Switching my job here and hold on

What would you do?
