It may actually help you if they have an internal metric where they desire to have a certain percentage of their work force that has a disability.
Came to say this also
I’m also 80%. I disclose on the app but haven’t really noticed either way if it helps.
They can't legally discriminate
Always disclose but you don’t have to share details of your disability. All government jobs and many large, private sector jobs see it as a plus for their hiring goals, especially private companies with government contracts.
I think ppl know the rating doesn’t mean you got like downs syndrome or something
My non-vet coworker has seen Mike Glover vids (retired green beret) and you can’t tell he’s disabled at all despite 100%. The rating is for things that don’t affect the typical white collar job at all.
Do you have any experience working remotely??
I do, and prefer it 😎
Thanks everyone for weighing in, appreciate it. I would prefer not to disclose it but I also don’t want to lie. Hope everyone has a great weekend 😎
I'm not sure how everything is screened but when it comes in front of me it's just based on experience who I pick to interview. I don't even notice if they clicked they are a disabled vet.
I usually put prefer not to disclose
Fine to put on the application, but would not disclose in any interviews or cover letters. Cover letter and resume are all interviewer will see. While illegal to discriminate there’s nothing stopping the interviewer from thinking this person might take more days off for medical appointments than the other applicants. Basically don’t want to trigger any implicit bias in the process and have it work negatively against you.
