You are overthinking it. It could be as simple as he thinking you are a great asset where you are.
I had a pre-interview meeting like that before I landed my current position. It felt more like a two-way street since I got to ask a ton of questions about the school, etc. It's a great opportunity to see if it’s a good fit for you, too.
I would agree that it is probably just a get to know meeting. Which honestly, we could do a lot more with! It’s really hard to get an accurate feel for things when all you have is the formal interviews. Would also cautiously say it is a good indicator for how things are run there, with some decent thought!
I had the same thing happen to me. I was told it was a meeting to discuss about the role etc but the questions I was asked was more like an interview and then after a couple of weeks I was told I didn't get the job as the position has been filled lol. My advice is to prepare for it like it's an interview just in case.
No,he is full of it. Those are the things you go over in a “formal” interview. He trying to find out about your personality, and other personal stuff to weed you out.
This is just a pre-interview to see if you would fit. Act as if it is the real interview, and good luck!
