Im on pace to settle between $8-10M this year ($2.7-3M in fees) as pre-lit personal injury attorney, 10 years out, 1 year into new firm, Base $90k, 3% commission, I should clear $175k-$180k this year with benefits and 4% matching IRA, we have 55 employees at the firm, is it unreasonable to be wanting to clear $200k a year? $225k a reach? Don’t want to be unreasonable having only been here a year?

Our appraisal came through exactly as the offer price we put. Apparently by lenders 3rd party. Isnt that a bit fishy? If it came in lower our contract has the option to negotiate a bit with seller. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)

Here in my jx, in little league/entry level court, it’s pretty typical judges award 2x the medical bills.

Got pulled from litigating MVAs to help this solo we hired start a med Mal/nursing home practice. 1 year in and it looks like I’m two steps backwards in terms of getting paid because we’re a year or more out from a lot of the fees hitting.
