I'm only a few years into my teaching career but I just realized I don't really have a solid plan for retirement. I think I will probably get some sort of pension but is there anything else I should be doing to try and get ahead? Should I have a separate savings or other plan in place? Any advice from all of you amazing, seasoned educators would be helpful 😊

I personally use the retirement 403b through my employer. But I'd definitely put away the most dollar you can. My current plan sucks and I need to start adding more in, but with the price of things I just can't afford more out of my check.

Put in more when you can. Our monthly amount changed as the years went on. In 06 after the crash, we didn’t put in anything until we got back on our feet. Then when our kids were older we were able to put in quite a bit per month. Plus you’ll get a retirement pension from the state that’s not too bad. I just retired and thank God I have a pension. Good luck!

Invest in AMC

Also in gold, silver and crypto

The most risk is actually the US dollar and the general stock market since its tied to the dollar. With the country in a recession, heading towards a depression, it crucial to hedge before its to late.

The number of countries moving away from the Dollar and joining BRICS is increasing day by day.

Even Blackrock has made mass investments and push towards Crypto and Bitcoin EFTs. Blackrock is one of the most powerful entities in the world.

2 days ago Jim Rogers has come out and said the most obvious: its essential to invest in gold and silver right now to hedge as the dollar crashes.

Yellen has also made comments about the concern of the dollar dropping.

All the pension funds, retirement funds, everything is going to depreciate drastically.
Of course the government and mainstream media is going ring the sirens and alarm anyone until it's too late.

But if you are serious about your future and financial stability, highly recommend doing some research and not following the mainstream media that is all owned by the 1%

Why has real estate remained lucrative?
Mainly agents but also developers.

The barrier to entry is low, not even sure if graduating high school is needed. My old agent even said she did it bc she can make a lot money and not work that much. She drove a new Mercedes and sent her kids to private school, husband was also an agent.

So I’m curious why it didn’t get flooded and the profit margin dampened to a $/hr closer to other jobs with similarly easy entry?

Hi all, I am trying to DCA bi-weekly into Vanguard ETFs, (VO, VTI etc). It seems like Fidelity does not support auto buying of non-Fidelity ETFs. So I was wondering which of these options you think is best?

1. Open a Vanguard Invest account
2. Look for Fidelity ETFs that are similar to Vanguard ETFs
3. Use smaller brokerages like SoFi l, Robinhood etc.

I really do not want to manage nor be active. My goal is to log-in like once every 6 months.

Thank you all.

Going through a closeout. 50-50 profit share allocation, but my business partner has been using the venture money at their personal piggy bank (hence the breakup). My accountants say because we agreed to 50-50 shares, the leftover money has to be divided equally.

They spent $100k in the last month on random "work stuff" but bought a new car, etc. Now I have to pay for it with less equity return!

Just wanted to rant, I'll probably never go into a partnership again.

I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!
