When I am extremely stressed and burnt out, my medicine doesn’t feel like it works. If you are able — take a break, take a nap, do something you like and fill your cup. See if everything feels better tomorrow.

Thank you! Taking a break. Hopefully I will feel better

Oxycodone: Understanding the Current Shortage
Current Shortage of Oxycodone
Oxycodone, an essential medication for effective pain management, is currently facing a significant shortage. This crisis is driven by increased demand for pain relief, ongoing supply chain disruptions, and stringent government regulations aimed at combatting opioid misuse.

Government Restrictions on Supply
In response to the opioid epidemic, government agencies have implemented strict regulations on the production and distribution of opioids, including oxycodone. While these measures are necessary to prevent misuse and addiction, they have inadvertently limited access for patients who genuinely need this medication. Many healthcare providers face challenges in prescribing adequate amounts, leaving patients in pain and struggling to find alternatives.

What is Oxycodone?
Oxycodone is a powerful opioid medication prescribed to manage moderate to severe pain. By binding to specific receptors in the brain, it alters the perception of pain, offering substantial relief to those suffering from various medical conditions.

Common Uses:
-Post-Surgical Pain Relief: Vital for recovery after surgeries, facilitating a smoother healing process.
-Chronic Pain Management: Essential for individuals with long-term pain, significantly improving their quality of life.
-Cancer-Related Pain Relief: Crucial for alleviating severe pain experienced by cancer patients, enhancing their comfort and well-being.

Impact on Patients
The current government approach, while aimed at reducing addiction rates, has led to unintended consequences for patients in need of oxycodone. Many are left to navigate a complicated healthcare system, facing delays and difficulties in obtaining their necessary prescriptions. This situation can result in increased suffering, anxiety, and a diminished quality of life for those relying on this medication for relief.

Important Considerations:
Addiction Potential:** Oxycodone carries a high risk of misuse and dependency; careful management is essential.
Medical Supervision Required: Always consult a healthcare provider before starting or adjusting any dosage.
Possible Side Effects: Users may experience side effects such as drowsiness, constipation, nausea, and dizziness.

48/M, average health. Few weeks ago I had a seizure out of the blue. First time ever, no family history. At the hospital given lots of tests: MRI, CT, EKG, EEG, blood/urine/COVID tests. Everything came back normal. Since hospital discharge I’ve seen cardiologist and wore halter monitor for a week. All good. Have neurologist appointment next month but afraid no one knows why this happened. In the meantime no one wants me to drive a car. Can this happen again? Can anyone relate to this situation?

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

For those who were diagnosed as an adult can you provide some insight into how you were able to obtain a diagnosis. I went to my primary care dr who referred me to another dr who specialized in mental health. He asked me about 5 questions before telling me I should see a neuropsychologist for an official assessment. The referral he gave me is super pricey and apparently isn’t covered by insurance. Is that normal?

It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. I know I’m not alone that people don’t want to return to the office. My ADHD and the open office just makes working from the office a nightmare and I’m feeling really nervous and kind of resentful.
