I’m sure this is a narrow area here, but does anyone have any tips on getting a role within the Department of Transportation? I’ve spent the last 6+ years as an in-house counsel with two large transportation companies and am interested in moving over to the regulatory side. Will my company-side experience help, hurt, or be immaterial?

Hi all, I’m looking to learn about how one can transition from PwC AC to PwC India.
I joined PwC AC Bangalore as a fresher and have been working here for 13 months.
I was randomly assigned to SAP, but I’ve realised I really want to move away from this and move towards what I originally planned on pursuing i.e. data analysis, I was already well versed in ML and DL with python.

I applied for two positions at a district court that say ‘open until filled’. I’m going on a cruise in a few weeks and don’t want to miss hearing from HR.
The posting says due to the high number of applicants do not follow up, you will be contacted if chosen for an interview.
How much will it hurt me to email and explain that I will be unavailable from 9/5 to 9/16 but I am extremely interested and don’t want to miss hearing from them if I have a chance for the position?
